Kokedama #10

The kokedama is a stunning traditional Japanse way of displaying plants. It's mossball makes the plant look playful but modern.

The plant used for this kokedama (chlorophytum) requires birght, indirect light. Exposing it to direct light can cause sunburn to the leaves. 

With kokedamas the moss likes to stay moist, but keeping it too wet for too long can cause root rot. You can check if it needs water by lifting the mossball. If it feels light and/or looks dry, it will need water. You can water the kokedama by putting the mossball in a bowl of water until it feels heavy. 

The kokedama will thrive in higher roomhumidity and roomtemperture. You can mist the mossball with a plant sprayer to get the humidity up. Keep it out of cold drafts and do not place it directly above a heater. 

During the growing season (spring and summer) the plant would appreciate to be fed with a (liquid) fertilizer every month. During the winter dormancy period the plant does not need to be fertilized (or it should be heavily diluted). 

Over time the moss can change colour. This is a natural process. If you would like you can add new moss on top.
